Roleplaying in South East London since 1999

The roots of the Hobbits Hole Roleplaying club stretch all the way back to 1999 and has met at a number of venues across South East London before finally settling on our current home in Bromley. We meet every week from 7pm-11pm for tabletop gaming and have a great mix of experienced GMs and enthusiastic players which makes for a great atmosphere. We always try to keep an empty chair at each gaming table so if anyone wants to come to the club for a visit they are welcome to join in for the evening.

Games

Our groups gaming choices at Hobbits Hole have no set boundaries. If there is an idea for a RPG and enough interest to fill a table then we are in! Over the years there have been numerous options. D&D 5e, Pathfinder, ERA, Savage Worlds, Stars Without Numbers and Earth Dawn are just a few. We have even had some of our more creative GMs create their own game mechanics and worlds to play them in. This club is always open to more ideas though so there is always something for everyone!

Community

Hobbits Hole prides itself on being more than just a roleplaying club but a group built on community spirit. On top of roleplaying, we host a number of social events throughout the year too. Weather permitting, we host a RPG BBQ in the summer and get together for a few club drinks and dinner in London over the Christmas period. Additionally, we normally have a group of us attend annual events across London and the South East such as Dragonmeet and get board games out to support International Tabletop Day in June.

Once a year we hold an annual tournament to choose the Hobbit Hole champion for the year who, as well as the glory of victory, wins the challenge of organising the next year’s event. Over the years, this has taken the form of escape room based challenges, board game showdowns and even a Wii tournament! It makes for a great break from the main tabletop games and is a chance for everyone at Hobbits Hole to do something together.

Interested?

We are always on the lookout for new roleplaying members across London and the South East who can attend regularly and help us to keep our ideas and adventures fresh and interesting. If you would like to find out more about Hobbits Hole, we operate a trial membership system lasting for 4 weeks which is free of charge. During this time we will get you involved in as many RPG games as possible so we can get to know you better and you can get to know us. If after that you would like to join us, then there are weekly or annual payment options available to you. Please note that Hobbits Hole is a not for profit community and these funds are only used for the upkeep and betterment of the club.

If you think Hobbits Hole sounds like the right place for you, please email us and let us know a little bit about yourself and when you'd like to visit so we can arrange a spot in a game for you. We know joining a new group can be daunting for some, but we are a friendly roleplaying club and will try and support whatever you need to enable you to become part of the Hobbits Hole family.
